Table tennis is a kind of sport in which the players hit a lightweight, hallow ball back and forth with rackets (also known as "bats" or "paddles"). It is played by two opposing players (singles) and two opposing pairs (doubles): men's singles, women's single, men's doubles and women's doubles. The game takes place on a hard table which is divided by a net, a player should hit the ball with rackets back and forth to each other on a table. Table tennis is a game that demands quick reactions; strategy and tactics are important in this kind of match, points are scored if the player fails to return the ball within the rules. 

In 1926, the game table tennis is founded and controlled by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). Table tennis has been an Olympic sport which includes four events, since 1988. From 2008, doubles have been replaced by team events. Beijing was the first time where table tennis had an Olympic team event.
